A new drama on the town! I’m trying to stay away from romcoms at the moment since watching too many of them gets old quick, so when I saw this preview I figured The Fearless (靈異街11號) would be a perfect watch. It’s dark and also features my fave Lego Lee (李國毅) as the main lead, a man named Gao Zhi Hai, or Ah Hai for short. He dies after an entanglement with the mafia and is revived, returning with the ability to see ghosts. His father’s death prior to his own leads him to take over the funeral home that his father owned, and by doing so, he takes on cases from the dead to help them discover how they died. Also in the cast is Jian Man Shu (簡嫚書) as Sheng Yin, a doctor who doesn’t believe in the supernatural, Da Wen (大文) as Xia Duo Duo, Ah Hai’s assistant that is morbidly interested in the supernatural and wants to see ghosts, and Xi Xiang (喜翔) as Zhong Wu Ming, a detective that has worked with Ah Hai’s father. For the first two episodes, they are joined by Diane Lin (林意箴) as Liao Yi Xin, a woman who was labeled as having committed suicide.

Before We Get Married Episode 8 Previews (Part 2)
Two more previews came out yesterday (oops totally wasn’t paying attention). With the episode coming out tomorrow, there’s some intrigue added into the previews we’ve already seen this week, including the fact that Li Hao Yi (Steven Sun) hasn’t learned anything. Sigh. And, Chu Ke Huan (Jasper Liu) is restraining himself (ish) while Zhou Wei Wei (Puff Guo) is making every move vocalize her frustrations with Li Hao Yi but still accepting that she’s getting married. Hm. I spy a contradiction.

Before We Get Married Episode 8 Preview
Ah, episode 7 was a whirl with Zhou Wei Wei finally being forced to confront her relationship with Chu Ke Huan and trying to end it while also standing up to Li Hao Yi about what she wants from their relationship. She really had the guts to threaten Li Hao Yi into facing the fact that she will no longer just silently follow along on his plan (I suppose, she woke up?), but I think we all know that a marriage built around an ultimatum can never be good. Meanwhile, Chu Ke Huan is struggling and still chasing after Zhou Wei Wei. The episode 8 preview further shows how small the world is with Gao Zi Yuan becoming Zhou Wei Wei’s bridal consultant when she is hunting for dresses, which can’t go down well given the messy love triangle. Can’t wait to see how it plays out, especially with Han Ke Fei there!

Before We Get Married Episode 7 Preview
Juicy, juicy! Looks like our two leads are getting more and more intertwined. Forget that coincidence that led them to buy the other’s apartment. We’ve got a work scenario going on here, though I do suspect that Chu Ke Huan purposely did it to try and get closer to her…

When I See You Again Release Teasers and a Preview
So, now that Someone Like You has ended its sweet run (Kingone Wang is too good!), it’s time for a new Sunday SETTV drama. When I See You Again (他看她的第2眼), which will star Mandy Wei 魏蔓 and Jasper Liu 劉以豪, will begin airing this coming Sunday. I’m somewhat excited to see Jasper Liu back on the screen, especially after loving him in Amour et Patisserie and Pleasantly Surprised. Mandy Wei I’m alright with, but the projects she picked in the past really had terrible stories, ie. Deja Vu and I Do 2. I love how the teasers and preview feel though, but no setting expectations too high! SETTV is too good at packaging a drama… Continue reading
Someone Like You Episode 15 Previews
I realized the other day that I’ve written so much about dailies but almost nothing about anything else! I am watching Someone Like You (聽見幸福) and quite taken by the romance, while preparing for the angst and knowing that there are simply some plot points that are ridiculous. Nonetheless, I enjoy watching as Kingone Wang’s performance is superb. So, here’s more romance fluff! Continue reading
Be With You Episode Previews (Updated 5/27)
I know for dailies that there are indeed people who watch along with the live schedule and love the dramas so much that the previews become food for thought. So, I’ll be adding translated previews to this post as the drama airs, starting with the oldest. The bottom will contain the most recent previews. Warning: some of these previews are similar to the previews that show at the end of the episode and be aware that of course these could have spoilers. Take a look at your own risk and enjoy! Be With You Drops Long Preview
It’s a long tradition for SETTV dramas to drop long previews the day before they premiere on TV, so it was no surprise to see Be With You‘s preview this morning. I wasn’t expecting too much, but this looks like it will be fun. I’m already in love with the opening and closing songs, too! Continue reading
Be With You Releases Teasers and Stills
So, finally teasers and stills have been released for Be With You. For now, I like how the stills look (they are pretty!), and the teasers are the usual but put across the basic concept of wanting to date in which they meet their partners. The execution should be interesting as this is a daily and as always it’s unknown how the story will go (SETTV, please I beg you, don’t mess this one up. Let it be as amazing as Fabulous 30.) Take a look below! Continue reading
Be Famous for 15 Minutes Starts Tomorrow
Well, I stumbled upon this one. Be Famous for 15 Minutes (我的15分鐘) is a miniseries that will air two episodes, one hour each, for three days, starting Tuesday March 23rd on the PTS HD channel before airing weekly starting Saturday April 4th. It’s only six episodes, which is pretty rare. The only other short drama that I have watched is High Heels and a Scalpel (白袍下的高跟鞋), a rare medical drama that focuses on Parkinson’s. Continue reading
