Lost Romance (浪漫輸給你) Episode 2 Behind the Scenes (BTS)

Lost Romance has been interesting the first couple of episodes, definitely with the pace speeding up in the second episode with the heavier emphasis on the literary world, though albeit occasionally spending too long on certain scenes. There’s definitely chemistry between the leads, and it is attempting to take tropes and twist them on their head. A little poking fun at traditionally used bits while also maintaining some of those for fan service. I can’t say much for the plot at this point, but I am at least intrigued. The behind the scenes is more charming and carefree. I love the energy that cast has with each other, joking about and building a camaraderie. It was so sweet seeing them trick Marcus for his birthday!

Lost Romance (浪漫輸給你) Episode 1 Behind the Scenes (BTS)

…And I’m back to TW drama land, again. To be honest, I’ve been watching Amensalism, but I’ve been watching it too on and off to have an opinion about it (also because I study when I watch it usually). It’s also a bit more of a serious, less fluffy (?) drama. SETTV conveniently is back just as I end my first year of grad school, so I thought why not do quick translations of the BTS for Lost Romance (浪漫輸給你). The actors are adorable, re: the last few minutes of the BTS, and I can’t wait to see what they pull out of the bag even if my plot expectations don’t exist.

Before We Get Married Episode 8 Behind the Scenes (BTS)

Ahh, behind the scenes always being a treasure to change the mood after a bit of a hefty episode (or just because the drama is hefty on its own). Honestly, episode 8 was a little slow for me with there not being much activity beside Zhou Wei Wei confronting Li Yi Hao. I do suspect it is a set up episode and a lot of details will come back for the next episode. There is only three more episodes before it is all over, and I am cherishing every little bit. Also, Jasper Liu loving Pa Yu’s performance is me and so cute.

Before We Get Married Episode 7 Behind the Scenes (BTS)

Only two scenes this time for the episode 7 behind the scenes for Before We Get Married. The two scenes are such polar opposite for our star Jasper Liu, one where he gets slapped and the other where he gets to lay around drunk. Enjoy their fun and games as they act through these tense scenes!

Before We Get Married Episode 6 Behind the Scenes (BTS)

Ahh, this edition of the behind the scenes seems to be surrounded around the painful circumstances of the characters and, by proxy, the actors. Mind you, it’s mostly Puff Guo getting hurt or just overall being in terrible scenarios. As her character says, she’s having a bad day. More like a bad episode. We also get some light on the whole slapping scene, and I love seeing the comaraderie between Yuan Ai Fei and Nita Lei, whose characters hate each other and are in conflict. Enjoy!

Before We Get Married Episode 5 Behind The Scenes (BTS)

Ah, it’s nice to see the cast having so much fun in scenes that were much more tense as Chu Ke Huan holds on tight to chasing Zhou Wei Wei while also reaching out to her to destress. We also get to see some tidbits from Daniel Chen and Yuan Ai Fei. Although their relationship has been somewhat muted due to the drama going down between their friends, they play quite a key role as those supportive individuals around people in times of need. Heck, even Yuan Ai Fei didn’t want to disrupt Chu Ke Huan and drunken Zhou Wei Wei, but sorry, that’s not how the story goes.

Before We Get Married Episode 4 Behind The Scenes (BTS)

Reality is setting in for the main leads, and the trap is closing in! We get three major scenes in this edition of behind the scenes at Before We Get Married, with the biggest part being the key scene in Chu Ke Huan’s old apartment (or Li Hao Yi’s and Zhou Wei Wei’s new apartment, though technically it’s under Li Hao Yi’s name). It’s a big kiss AND a proposal. Also, can I just say I love Han Ke Fei to death?

What a thrill ride! Not saying that the drama isn’t flawed, but it definitely turns up the heat while also showing different sides of the characters through their interactions with different individuals. Through the behind the scenes segments on the episodes, you can see the actors working (with some joking) with the director, and I love seeing the director taking a step in to explain scenes or feelings along the way. Ahh, Before We Get Married (我們不能是朋友) has pulled me back into the Taiwanese drama scene after almost four years. I don’t know how it ended up showing up on my social media feeds, but it did and caught my attention for being darker than your normal romcoms. I really appreciate that especially since I’ve definitely grown since my high school days of drama watching. It goes without saying that the drama is a thrill ride, with not a single character being perfect and them driving the situation further and further into chaos. The actors themselves have mentioned that filming this drama was quite an acting challenge so let’s see those behind the scenes moments (hilariously called More Friends than Friends)!
